What is an ISMS?

An Information Security Management System.(ISMS) is an Information System that allows the identification, assessment and recorded protection of an organisation's information assets. Put quite simply, an ISMS is a documentational system that provides your organisation with their information security management requirements.

Like any complex Information System, an ISMS is achieved only through hard work. You need to understand the subject matter and how you can develop a systematic approach to such a structure. With AVDAR™ we have taken that pain away for you.

AVDAR™ ISMS objectives

in the event of a disaster, AVDAR™ delivers a fully configured ISMS to the organisation, when they need it most

the ISO17799 standard prescribes a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) approach to implementing an ISMS

AVDAR™ cleanly implements this PDCA approach in its highly structured solution. This approach separates the required management documentation and the risk analysis of identified information assets

AVDAR™ is offered as either an highly secure hosted Internet service or as an internal company service

with AVDAR™ we understand the difficulty most organisations have in building a fit-for-purpose ISMS that protects their information assets. But why protect them?

1: organisations working in a high technological environment are depending more and more on their Information Systems

2: the public is increasingly concerned about the inappropriate use of data and information

3: threats to Information Systems from criminals and terrorists appear to be constantly increasing
